Amy
began her training with the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet. While there she
studied under Jean Gedeon, Tamar Rachelle, Ruth Leney-Midk, Nicholas
Petrov and Kimmary Williams. She has also performed with the New York
City Ballet, The Chautauqua Ballet in the Tanzsommer Performing Arts
Festival in Innsbruk, Austria and as a member of the Butler Ballet
at Butler University. Amy's first choreographic vehicle was showcased in the Regional Dance America/Northeast Festival in 1999 where she was awarded the Monte Cello Award for "Best Emerging Choreographer." Since then her works have been performed in the Craft of Choreography Conference in Austin, TX, Youth American Dance Competition, numerous Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company's Spring Concerts, as well as Point Park University's Student Choreography Showcase. Amy holds her Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Dance Pedagogy from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. |
