PRISCILLA POORTINGA
Priscilla began her dance training at the Indiana University Pre-College Ballet Program. She
performed in such productions as Tchaikovsky’s “the Nutcracker” and “The Wedding on the Eiffel Tower.” Throughout her high school years, Priscilla helped lead and choreograph for her
varsity dance team. In 1997 and 1999 she earned a Universal Dance Association All Star dancer award where she was invited to perform and
represent the US in the New Years Day Parade held in Paris, France.
During her collegiate years, Priscilla spent much of her time leading her sorority’s dance events. These events include Riley’s Annual Dance Marathon, choreographing and running
recruitment dance performances, and directing many IU Sing group productions. Her
choreography in the 2004 IU sing performance for the ROTC Army earned a 1st place win. In 2004, she had the opportunity to work and perform with the IU African American Dance company and the Contemporary Modern Dance Program. Since graduating with bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in dance, she has been teaching all styles of dance in the Indianapolis and Carmel areas.
